A 20-year-old driver, V. T., was pulled over early this morning around 2 a.m. in the New Belgrade area by traffic police. He was driving a Volkswagen Golf at a speed of 182 km/h in a zone where the speed limit is only 80 km/h. Further tests revealed that the driver was severely intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level of 1.31 promil.

Driving Drunk, Without a License

The driver was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid license, which had been previously revoked due to criminal penalties. He was subsequently detained and a criminal complaint was filed against him for reckless driving and other serious offenses.

The Ministry of Interior has called on drivers to avoid endangering themselves and others by disregarding traffic laws. Traffic police will continue to conduct intensified checks and impose strict penalties on the most serious violations to protect the safety of all citizens.
