Ares Petrovolos was on the verge of achieving the historic promotion to Super League 2, but a dramatic own goal by Krallis in the 88th minute led to a painful 1-2 loss against Pyrgos. The match result is now under review by the EPO Appeals Committee.
The team led by Vangelis Hande started the game strongly and took the lead in the 4th minute with a header by Katsonian, following a foul committed by Politis. Ares managed to control the first half, but Pyrgos increased their pressure in the second half and managed to turn the game around.
After a close call with a Barbarousi free-kick, Pyrgos equalized at the 60th minute with a goal from Handi, capitalizing on a defensive error. As the game seemed headed towards a draw, Krallis, in an attempt to clear the ball, inadvertently put it into his own net in the 88th minute, securing Pyrgos the win.

This heartbreaking loss feels like a cruel twist of fate! How can a single own goal at the last minute change everything? It's like the gods of football have a wicked sense of humor. Can't wait to see how this unfolds!
