Former Ligă Profesionistă de Fotbal (LPF) president, Mitică Dragomir (79), has passed a direct message to FCSB owner Gigi Becali (67), advising him to bring back physical trainer Thomas Neubert. Dragomir believes Neubert could be hired by another Superliga team if Becali doesn’t act quickly enough.

FCSB's Struggles and Dragomir's Advice

This season has been challenging for FCSB, with the team missing the Superliga playoffs for the first time. Dragomir has kept a close eye on Becali's team and has offered advice to the businessman: rehire the German physical trainer Thomas Neubert.

“Bring back the German physical trainer, Neubert. Take him quickly before Rapid or another team does. Gigi doesn’t really stand a chance for the top five anymore. He doesn’t have a chance for the playoffs,” Dragomir said.

Other Recommendations and FCSB's UEFA Conference League Prospects

Dragomir also advised Becali to bring back Florinel Coman and replace Octavian Popescu, whom he believes is detrimental to the team. He believes FCSB will overcome FC Botoșani in the semifinal of the UEFA Conference League playoffs. However, he doubts FCSB’s chances against Dinamo București in the final.

“If there were two more stages, FCSB would lose its playoff spot. Botoșani doesn’t have a team, even if they have a good coach (Marius Croitoru). Botoșani versus FCSB is a match with one clear favorite,” Dragomir stated.

Dragomir also commented on Becali’s plans to invest money in new players, suggesting it’s a necessity given FCSB’s current performance. He noted that the team is weak and that its recent selections have not been successful.

“Gigi will bring players in the next year. I’ve heard he’s putting in money and bringing in players. He has enough money. What does 20 million mean for Gigi? Gigi didn’t listen to Meme Stoica or others. The selections at FCSB and the injuries, they weren’t up to par. FCSB is weak, very weak,” Dragomir concluded.
