The Roland Garros draw has been made, and Novak Djokovic faces a tough challenge right from the start of the tournament.
Djokovic will face a potential minefield in the first round with Djovani Mpejja Perikara from France. The good news is that he won't face his toughest rival, Jannik Sinner, until the final, but he will have to navigate a difficult path to get there. Perikara is known for his uncomfortable serve, which could make for a challenging match on clay.
If Djokovic advances past Perikara, he could face Valentin Rajer (France) or a qualifier in the second round. In the third round, he might face a potential rematch with Din Prizmic (Croatia) or a meeting with the highly talented João Fonseca (Brazil).
In the quarterfinals, Djokovic could face Hamad Medjedovic, but it’s more likely that he will encounter one of the top seeds: Kasper Ruud (Norway) or Tommy Paul (USA). Possible rivals in the semifinals include Miomir Kecmanovic, as well as top seeds Andrey Rublev (Russia), Alex de Minaur (Australia), and Jakub Menšik (Czech Republic).
In the semifinals, Djokovic could face Alexander Zverev, while his final opponent could be Jannik Sinner. Sinner will face Clement Tabu (France) in the first round, who received a special invitation to the second Grand Slam of the season.
The draw also includes Hamad Medjedovic playing against Jannik Hanfman and Miomir Kecmanovic facing Fabio Marozza in the first round of Roland Garros.
