Matej, a 13-year-old from Banja Luka, competes alongside adults in intense OCR races, showcasing remarkable determination and resilience.

We met Matej and his father, Neven, at the Tribalion OCR race in Tara. Recently, the father-son duo scaled Mount Kilimanjaro to one of its highest points, Gilman’s Point (5,680 m).

Matej described his toughest obstacle in the OCR race, which involved jumping into a cold lake from a small toboggan. "It was difficult to run with wet shoes, shirt, and shorts; everything became heavier," he explained.

Matej and Neven have been participating in Tribalion for four years. Matej first joined at nine years old. "We go to OCR races and treks, but OCRs are our favorite," Neven said. "Tribalion is one of our most cherished and exciting races."

Despite the challenges, Neven and Matej are always ready for the next adventure, proving that with determination, nothing is impossible.
