The defense and security sector is set to converge in Bucharest from May 13 to May 15, as the Black Sea Defense and Aerospace (BSDA) 2026 event welcomes over 650 exhibitors from 36 countries. Held at ROMAERO, the event is under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.

Expectations and Significance

Organizers anticipate an influx of more than 30,000 visitors and over 350 Romanian and foreign officials. This major event comes at a time of heightened security concerns in Europe, particularly due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the accelerated rearmament efforts by NATO.

Highlights and Exhibitors

BSDA 2026, marking its 20th anniversary, will feature seven national pavilions, showcasing advancements in modern warfare technologies. Key technologies on display will include unmanned aerial systems, counter-drone solutions, and artificial intelligence applications for defense.

  • SkyFall will exhibit its P1-SUN system, known for intercepting thousands of drones launched against Ukraine since the start of 2026.
  • Rheinmetall will showcase the Lynx infantry fighting vehicle, as Romania plans to purchase 232 units for its land forces in what could be the country's largest defense procurement project financed under the European Union’s SAFE mechanism.
  • Lockheed Martin will display a full-scale model of the F-35 fighter jet ordered by Romania, alongside exhibits from Hanwha Aerospace, Raytheon, Leonardo, and Airbus.

Event Schedule

The first two days of BSDA 2026 will be exclusive to official, military, and business visitors. The outdoor exhibition area will open to the general public on May 15. For further details, visit https://www.bsda.ro/.
