Čukarički has solidified its future by signing a professional contract with Nebojša Grujić, who recently made his debut for the first team. Born on April 2, 2009, Grujić made his first-team debut against Vojvodina in Novi Sad and subsequently started in a match against Partizan at Banovo Brdo.
Grujić has shown great potential in the Serbian Youth League, leading the club's management to sign him to a professional contract until 2029. The forward midfielder put his signature on the deal in the club's premises.
Nebojša Grujić joined Čukarički in the winter transfer window of 2025. Initially, he was part of the cadet selection, before making an appearance for the youth team and later debuting for the first team.
"Honestly, I didn't expect to reach the first team so quickly, but I worked hard and was pleased to debut in the white and black of Čukarički. When I found out it was happening, it was an incredible feeling. I just wanted to show what I could do, and I hope I didn't disappoint. I look forward to having many more good minutes in the club's shirt," Grujić said.
He also expressed his gratitude to the club, coaches Marko Mihajlović and Mihajlo Trajković, and his teammates for their support.
"I have the highest expectations for the upcoming season, to establish myself in Čukarički's first team and contribute to the team's results, which we all want to return to the European path," he added.
Grujić, born in Belgrade, began his career in the younger categories of Partizan, later playing for Crvena Zvezda and Voždovac before joining Čukarički.
"This is definitely a club that gives young players the most opportunities. I didn't make a mistake by signing this contract, and it's a sign that I'm doing the right thing," he concluded.
Nebojša Grujić’s rapid rise at Čukarički is just what the club needs to rebuild its reputation. Can he be the key player that brings Čukarički back to the European stage? Let’s hope so!
