The basketball club Crvena Zvezda has made the decision to part ways with their former head coach, Saša Obradović.

As reported by the portal Direktno.rs and confirmed by our own site, the club's management made the expected decision following their exit in the ABA League semifinals.

The departure of Obradović seems less unexpected after the defeat against Partizan in the ABA League semifinals. The club's supporters have clearly conveyed their dissatisfaction with Obradović's performance.

Challenging Season

Obradović took over Crvena Zvezda after a 0:2 start in the Euroleague, following the departure of Janis Sefrovulos. Initially, things looked promising with a series of seven consecutive victories. However, the team's performance deteriorated significantly after winning the Radivoj Korać Cup. In the Euroleague, Zvezda ended up in tenth place and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Their ABA League campaign also ended in disappointment, losing both games to Partizan in the semifinals.

Future Uncertain

The departure of Obradović marks the second premature end to his tenure at Crvena Zvezda. It remains unclear who will take over the head coaching position for the remainder of the season, although Milan Tomić is being considered as a potential replacement.
