Croatian mixed martial artist Ivan Erslan (34) has been released from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) organization. The UFC recently released a small number of fighters, including Erslan, who secured his first win in the organization after three initial losses.

Erslan's Positive Reflection on UFC

Erslan shared his thoughts on Instagram, "Time for a new chapter! Proud to have been part of the UFC. I always gave everything I had within the cage! I'm leaving with my head held high and as a winner! Happy and excited for everything that comes next! It's going to be fun!"

A Mixed Record in UFC

In his UFC debut, Erslan defeated Tokkosa by unanimous decision (29-28 x3). The Croatian fighter had a close call in the first round but took control in the subsequent rounds. His career record stands at 15 wins and six losses.

Erslan previously fought three times in the UFC, losing all three. He lost to Ion Cutelaba by split decision in September 2024, to Navaja Stirling by unanimous decision in 2025, and was stopped in the first round by Jimmy Crute.

Erslan is expected to return to the FNC, where he has a perfect 3-0 record, and will aim for the lightweight title. The current champion is Slovenian Jakob Nedoh, who won the title in April against the previous champion Mateja Batinić.

COMMENT: Not sure how he'll fare in FNC, but it's always great to see fighters stay positive after a tough time. Here's to new opportunities for Erslan!
