Italian journalist Pietro Balzano Prota, known for his coverage of AC Milan, recently revealed on the YouTube channel Milan Vibes that Dinamo Zagreb has made contact with Luka Modrić regarding a possible return to the club. However, Prota added that Modrić's plan is to spend another year with AC Milan under Massimiliano Allegri if they secure a spot in the Champions League.

"I can confirm that Dinamo has contacted Modrić. His plan is to spend another year with AC Milan under Allegri if they qualify for the Champions League. He has had a fantastic time and is impressed with Milan and its organization," Prota stated.

Previous Attempts and Success in Milan

This is not the first time Dinamo has attempted to bring back its former star player. Multiple attempts have been made, including one at the beginning of this season. Modrić opted to join Milan, a decision that has proven successful. Despite being in his 40s, he has been a crucial part of the team fighting for the Serie A title and has been one of the league's top performers with 36 appearances, two goals, and three assists.

The topic of whether he will extend his stay at AC Milan has been a hot topic in recent months. After the World Cup, Modrić's contract with AC Milan will expire, making him a free agent.

Future of Modrić

Dinamo is hopeful that there is still a desire for Modrić to return to Maksimir, the stadium where the training ground bears his name. Whether this transfer will materialize remains to be seen in the coming months.
