Toma Bašić (29) is set to become a free agent at the end of the season as his contract with Lazio expires. Since joining the club in 2021, Bašić has played 95 matches, scoring four goals and providing five assists. His season has been his most productive, with 25 appearances, two goals, and three assists.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that Venetia, a club returning to the top-tier Serie A after winning Serie B, is a strong contender for Bašić's signature. Venetia finished first in Serie B with 82 points, securing direct promotion.

Bašić’s value is estimated at 2.5 million euros by Transfermarkt, but he will not be playing in the World Cup, as he was not selected for the Croatian national team by coach Zlatko Dalić. Bašić has played for Hajduk, Rudeš, Bordeaux, Salernitana, and Lazio, and has also represented Croatia at the Under-21 level.
