Leon Hrgota has secured a bronze medal at the European Senior Taekwondo Championships, which are taking place in Munich until the end of the event. In the semifinals, Hrgota was stopped by Belarusian Raman Turavin. This is Croatia's second medal from the competition, following Ivan Šapina's bronze win on the first day.

Hrgota, a member of the Marjan club from Split, competed in the men's 80 kg category. He started by defeating Swedish fighter Odling Hedqvist with a 2-0 score in the first round. He then moved on to the quarterfinals, where he outperformed Moldovan Dmitrii Suleaca with another 2-0 victory. His third win, without losing a round, was against Jon Gashi from Kosovo, bringing him to the bronze medal stand. However, in the semifinals, he was narrowly defeated by the reigning champion Raman Turavin from Belarus with a score of 1-2.

Ivan Šapina secured the first bronze medal for Croatia on the opening day in the over-87 kg category. Other Croatian competitors also came very close to securing medals, finishing their performances in the quarterfinals.

Josep Teskera from TK DIV Knin in the 58 kg category won against Georgian Tengiz Tsertsvadze (2-0) and Dutch fighter Milan Molle (2-1), before being stopped by Belarusian Georgi Gurtisev (0-2).

Ozana Radić from TK Champion in the 53 kg category also made it to the quarterfinals after winning against Irish Ruby Byrne (2-0) and Bosnian Ade Avdagić (2-1). However, she was defeated by Bulgarian Erika Karabelova (0-2) in the medal round.

Dora Meštrović from TK Medvedgrad in the 62 kg category opened the competition with a win against Portuguese fighter Leonor Correia (2-0), but was stopped by Spanish Else Secanel (0-2).
