Cristiano Ronaldo, the 41-year-old captain of Portugal, has been named in the World Cup squad by manager Roberto Martinez for the 2026 tournament. This will mark Ronaldo's sixth consecutive World Cup, with his first appearance dating back to 2006.

The final list, consisting of 27+1 players, pays tribute to Diogo Jota, who passed away last year, with the additional player slot. The squad also includes four goalkeepers, with Ricardo Vello only participating in the preparatory phase before the World Cup. Among the field players are notable stars like Joao Cancelo, Nuno Mendes, Ruben Dias, Joao Moutinho, Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, and Rafael Leao.

Portugal will be in a group with DR Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia at the World Cup. Before the tournament, the team will play friendly matches against Chile and Nigeria on home soil.
