Cristian Chivu Named Best Coach in Serie A After Winning with Inter

Romanian coach Cristian Chivu has been named the best coach in Serie A for the 2025/2026 season, following his successful stint with Inter Milan, where he secured the league title and the Italian Cup. The award, given by a jury of sports journalists, is based on technical and sporting criteria, as well as the quality of the teams' play and fair conduct during matches.

Chivu's Impact on Inter Milan

Chivu, who led Inter to an impressive season with a strong and proactive style of play, won the league with an average of over two goals per match and a goal difference of about 30 goals over the second-place team. His achievement was recognized at the final match of Serie A, the Bologna-Inter game at Renato Dall'Ara Stadium.

"Chivu's first season at the helm of Inter was simply extraordinary," said Luigi De Siervo, Executive Director of Lega Calcio Serie A. "From the start of the season, Chivu demonstrated the winning spirit he had as a player, guiding his team to a solid and proactive style of play."

The award ceremony also recognized other outstanding players, including Lautaro Martinez as the best attacker of the season, Mile Svilar as the best goalkeeper, Marco Palestra as the best defender, and Nico Paz as the best midfielder. Kenan Yildiz was named the rising star of Serie A.
