Cristi Chivu Signs New Contract with Inter Milan

In his first season as coach, Cristi Chivu has led Inter Milan to a dream season, winning the Scudetto and Coppa Italia. This achievement marks the first time in 16 years that Inter has won both titles, since the days when Chivu was a player. The last time this happened was under the guidance of José Mourinho.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chivu’s success will be rewarded with a new contract extending until 2028, with an increased salary from his current €2.5 million. The contract also includes an option for an additional year, contingent on the team's performance.

Looking ahead, Chivu will have a more ambitious agenda, aiming to improve Inter’s standing in the UEFA Champions League, where they were eliminated in the playoff round this year. Inter has shown impressive financial support, giving Chivu a significant transfer budget and complete freedom in this summer’s transfer window.

With one round left to go in Serie A, Inter has accumulated 86 points, including 27 victories, five draws, and five losses.
