Csikszereda remains without a coach at the end of this season following a 2-0 victory over FC Botoșani. Robert Ilyes, 52, played a significant role in the team's success, but he felt exhausted and decided to retire after the final match of the competitive season.

The Miercurea Ciuc team concluded the 2025/2026 season with a crucial home victory over FC Botoșani. They entered the final round with a comfortable lead, avoiding relegation. Eppel and Anderson Ceara scored both goals in the second half, securing the team's 9th place with 33 points, equaling their opponent's score.

After the match, Ilyes announced his retirement, citing the need for a break after a demanding and exhausting season. "After a win, it matters that I left a last impression against a team playing in the relegation playoffs. My efforts were recognized, but we need to remain modest and think back to the start of the season when no one believed in us."

Ilyes stated, "Yes, it was my last match. I need a longer break to sort my thoughts and return to normal mental health." He expressed gratitude to the club for their trust and acknowledged the significant effort required to promote and maintain the team in the top division.
