A legendary era in Romanian football has come to an end. Ciprian Deac, a long-time stalwart of the sport, played his final official match, leaving a lasting legacy. After the game against FC Argeș, Deac delivered an emotional message, thanking everyone from cleaning staff to teammates.
Deac's Final Match
The former, now retired, footballer Ciprian Deac played for 80 minutes in his last official match. From the moment he was substituted until the lap of honor, Deac could not hold back his tears. He also scored a goal, but it was disallowed due to offside. Despite the disallowed goal, Deac’s performance was a fitting send-off for his career.
Words of Gratitude
Deac, who has won 15 trophies over his 22-year career, expressed his heartfelt gratitude. He said, "I feel the most fulfilled and appreciated player, and I can only thank you all. I am proud to be a part of CFR Cluj's history. I love you all, and keep your hearts open!"
He continued, "Thank you to everyone, from cleaning staff to all those in the club. You protected us and made us feel like real people. I thank my colleagues; they deserve appreciation for what they have done. I do not know what the future holds, but I know I will miss you. I love you."
Deac also shared his advice to young players: "Respect this profession. It is a privilege to be a football player, to make money doing what you love. Respect the profession, give everything, as football does not wait for you. You must give everything now."
Reflecting on his career, Deac said, "I did not think about what I will do next. I wanted to concentrate on the team until the last day. I want to relax for 2-3 weeks. I did not think I could play even a minute. I had stronger emotions than when I debuted. In the last week, I don't know if I slept for more than 3 hours in total. It was a pleasant surprise! I did not expect this from the supporters and the club."
nu am crezut că se va termina așa, sper că îl vom vedea pe câmp încă o dată...
