Dominic, in Milan, Cristi Chivu (45 years old) and the Inter players celebrated the Serie A title won in the 2025-2026 season. This marks Chivu's first season as the head coach of the Italian giants. Just days after their Cup victory, Inter faced Verona at home, ending in a 1-1 draw. Chivu and his players received their championship medals post-match.
After the final whistle, Chivu addressed his predecessor, Simone Inzaghi (50 years old), emphasizing his efforts to instill ambition and enthusiasm in the team. He highlighted the collective effort and the challenges overcome from the previous season.
“I always try to instill ambition and enthusiasm in the players. The two trophies we’ve won are the result of a team that worked hard and put in the effort to achieve them. It wasn’t easy to correct the mistakes made last year,” Chivu said on the field.
Chivu became the third coach in Inter’s history to win both the Italian Cup and the Serie A title in the same season. Additionally, he is the first to achieve this feat in his debut season at the helm.
Chivu dedicated the victory to Inter fans worldwide and his family. “I dedicate this victory to all Inter fans around the world and to my family. It wasn’t clear after last season that we would find our way, and I’d say we did it wonderfully. I don’t need thanks; I know who I am and what I bring. Let others speak! I care about the team, the club, and these wonderful people,” Chivu said.
