The Deal Is Dead

It is official. The era of Dušan Vlahović at Juventus is drawing to a close. Giorgio Chiellini, the club’s legendary defender and current director of football strategy, has put an end to the speculation. The Serbian striker is walking away. Why? Because the numbers simply do not match. Chiellini stated clearly that the Turin giants and the player could not reach an agreement on a new contract. Vlahović wants more, and Juventus is not handing it over.

A Free Agent in June

Chiellini did not mince words in his statement to AGI. He described Vlahović as a serious man and a serious player, but one who refuses to stay under the current terms. His contract expires on June 30, turning him into a free agent. The Serbian international arrived from Fiorentina in January 2022 for a staggering fee of over 80 million euros. He has played 168 matches for the Old Lady, scoring 68 goals. This season, he netted 10 goals in 23 appearances despite a severe muscle injury that sidelined him for four months.

The Suitors Circle

The race for his signature is already heating up. Reports suggest Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Barcelona have all made contact with his representatives. Napoli is also in the mix, especially with Massimiliano Allegri, Vlahović’s former coach, poised to take the helm there. The market is wide open, and the striker is ready to make his move.
