CFR Cluj has secured qualification for the upcoming season of the Conference League, thanks to their third-place finish in the Superliga, which they secured after a draw with Dinamo. This marks the ninth consecutive season that the team from Gruia will start in a European cup.

CFR has never missed out on continental competition since Ioan Varga became the principal financier of the club. The team, coached by Daniel Pancu, will enter the second qualifying round of the Conference League and must defeat three teams to reach the main group stage.

CFR is ranked in the top 10 among teams starting in the second qualifying round based on their coefficients. This ensures that CFR Cluj will be a top seed in the second qualifying round, potentially facing weaker opponents such as Coleraine (Northern Ireland), Vestri (Iceland), Derry City (Ireland), St. Joseph’s (Gibraltar), or Athletic Club d’Escaldes (Andorra).

In the third qualifying round, CFR will maintain its top seed status even with stronger teams from the Europa League entering the competition. The strongest potential opponents in the Conference League play-off round, if CFR qualifies, could be Bran or Tromsø (Norway) or HJK Helsinki (Finland).

CFR Cluj's coefficient ensures they will remain among the top seeds in the main round of the Conference League, avoiding matches against the lower-ranked teams from top European leagues.
