A Bulgarian tourist was rescued by helicopter from the Caraiman Valley in the Bucegi Mountains in Romania after falling 40 meters into a ravine, according to the Romanian mountain rescue service "Salvamont" in the Prahova district. The intervention was carried out with the help of a helicopter from the Emergency Medical System SMURD.

The rescue team was alerted by a call to 112 around 12:45 local time on Monday. According to the information received, the Bulgarian tourist had slipped on snow and fallen into the ravine. The young man was severely injured, with multiple traumas (head, abdominal, lower extremities) and frostbite caused by the fall. He was quickly transported to the hospital.

The injured was accompanied by four others, all of whom were safely evacuated from the mountain. The rescuers noted that the steep paths in the Bucegi Mountains are still closed, and the group was inadequately equipped for the conditions in the area.
