Bulgarian swimmers secured eight more gold medals on the second day of the "Grand Prix Burgas - Mayor's Cup 2026" international swimming tournament held in Park Arena OZK. Gabriela Georgieva was the fastest in the women's 200-meter backstroke final, winning the distance in 2:12.20 minutes, a national record holder in the discipline. Her lead over the following competitors, Darina Rakova and Tiiana Temelkova, was significant. In the men's 200-meter backstroke final, Darin Kyriylov from Dorostol took the win with a time of 1:59.10 minutes, followed by Adrian Yoninov and Nikolay Levterov from Sprint Sofia.
Diana Petrova from Sprint Sofia won her second gold medal after her success in the 100-meter butterfly race. She finished the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:00.42 minutes. Victor Hristov from Plovdiv 2019 won the men's 100-meter butterfly race with a time of 54.08 seconds.
Petar Mitzin from the Vihren team took the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle event. The world and European champion in the juniors category achieved a strong result of 3:48.45 minutes, significantly ahead of his competitors. In the women's event, Simona Ivanova from Olimp won with a time of 4:28.61 minutes, followed by competitors from VSI, Ema Dimitrova and Andreya Georgieva.
Seventeen-year-old Elitsa Milotinova from Akademik achieved success in the women's 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:42.19 minutes, with Elena Kalaidzhiska from Olimp and Hatidze Yozturk from Breez following closely behind. Svetlozar Nikolov from VSI club won the men's 200-meter medley race, finishing in 2:06.82 minutes, leaving Moldovan Ivan Dancu behind by eight hundredths of a second, with his team-mate Yavor Stefanov finishing third.
