Bulgarian singer Dare's Eurovision triumph has sparked excitement across the Balkans, with basketball star Sasha Vezenkov enthusiastically praising the victory. She won with her song "Bangaranga" after a significant show of support from both jury and televote.

Bulgaria's First Eurovision Win

It was Bulgaria's first-ever Eurovision victory, particularly notable as the country had taken a brief hiatus from the competition due to financial difficulties. The victory was celebrated across Europe and even in the basketball world, where the most renowned Bulgarian player is Olympiacos' Sasha Vezenkov.

Vezkov's Reaction

Vezenkov, preparing for his team's EuroLeague Final Four match against Fenerbahce, expressed his joy over Dare's win. "I was watching, and we killed them! We were first in the jury and televote, we took everything," he told Mozzart Sport with enthusiasm. He even joked about Lepa Brena possibly arriving by helicopter at the next Eurovision in Sofia.

"First, EuroLeague comes to Athens, then we'll see what happens in Sofia," he quipped. Vezenkov was also realistic about the upcoming match, acknowledging that Fenerbahce would be a tough opponent. "Fenerbahce is an exceptionally strong team, full of talent and experience. We need to match their intensity and physical play, be fully prepared for that level of contact," he concluded for Mozzart Sport.
