The second stage of the Giro d'Italia, cycling's premier Italian tour, concludes today in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. Mayor Daniel Panov will personally present the pink jersey to the stage winner.

The day before one of the world's largest international sporting events, Deputy Mayor Georgi Nedev tested the route and highlighted where the best cyclists will pass through the city. The cyclists will enter Veliko Tarnovo from the eastern entrance, passing through streets named after local heroes like "Theodosius Tarnovski" and "Dimitar Naidenov." They will then circle the Tsarevets Fortress, the "Mini Bulgaria" park, and medieval churches such as "St. Peter and Paul," "St. Ivan of Rila," and "St. Forty Martyrs." Exiting by Tsarevets to "Tsar Asen I" square, they will then climb slightly along "Nikola Piccolo" street and pass by the "Velchova Zavera" memorial to reach the final stretch in Old Tarnovo. The main finish line will be on "Vasil Levski" street, between the Community and the theater, with the award ceremony taking place in front of the "Apostle of Freedom" memorial.

According to the plan, the cyclists are expected to enter Veliko Tarnovo around 5:00 PM, with the route estimated to take approximately 10 minutes.
