Bulgarian Long Jump Star Sarabyukov Faces World Champions in Shanghai
Bulgarian long jump champion Bozhidar Sarabyukov will face off against three world champions in the second Diamond League meet of the season in Shanghai, China, on Saturday, May 23rd. The event, which kicks off at 14:18 Bulgarian time, will see Sarabyukov, the European indoor champion from Apeldoorn 2025 and national record holder, competing against some of the biggest names in long jump in recent years.
Sarabyukov started the summer season strong with a second-place finish in the first Diamond League meet in Shanghai on May 16th, achieving a result of 8.07 meters. Among his competitors are current world champion Matija Furiani of Italy, who triumphed in Shanghai, double Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou of Greece, and world champion Tadji Gale of Jamaica.
In addition to these world-class athletes, Sarabyukov will also face Olympic silver medalist Wayne Pinok of Jamaica, current Asian champion Shu Hun of China, and other world championship medalists such as Shu Yuhao of China and Liam Adcock of Australia.
All of Sarabyukov's attempts and the entire competition will be broadcast live on MAX Sport 1 starting at 14:00 Bulgarian time on May 23rd. The studio program will begin 15 minutes earlier, with special guest Magdalena Hristova, a former world and European champion and three-time world champion for veterans in the long jump.
