Bulgarian Formula 4 Pilot Luboslav Ruykov Aims for Better Performance
Bulgarian Formula 4 pilot Luboslav Ruykov spoke to Sportal.bg, expressing optimism about the upcoming Velucenta race. After encountering technical issues at Misano, Ruykov believes the car will perform better this weekend.
Misano Challenges
In his first race as a rookie, Ruykov faced a troubled car from Trident. The team struggled to resolve an issue that caused the Bulgarian pilot to lose between 6 and 8 kilometers per hour on straightaways. Additionally, car setup changes before qualifying did not yield the expected results, leading Ruykov to complain about an unstable front end.
Despite these challenges, Ruykov managed to qualify for the final race of the first round, starting from the last row. He then overtook half the field and finished 17th.
Velucenta Expectations
“I expect a better car for Velucenta, there’s no doubt about it,” Ruykov explained. “The team planned to change the engine, but it turned out that wasn’t necessary. I’m optimistic about this weekend; I’m working well with the team and the engineer.”
Ruykov expressed his fondness for the Velucenta track, noting its high grip and fast technical sections where time can be gained. He also highlighted the intense competition in this year’s Formula 4 Italy championship, with pilots competing for a third season, which always makes a difference.
“I’m satisfied with my speed in the first round, but not with the car’s. I believe we can be even faster now and move forward. There are many battles ahead this weekend, and I can’t wait to get started,” Ruykov concluded.
The new T4 Series Bulgaria karting championship will start this weekend.
