Bulgarian boxers Zlatislava Chukanova and Viktorio Iliev are poised for the finals of the "Belgrade Winner" tournament. They advanced to the semifinals in the 63rd edition of the international event held in Serbia, following decisive victories during the first round of competition.
In the women's 51 kg category, Zlati Chukanova demonstrated her superiority against Serbian representative Nikolina Djida, securing a minimum bronze medal with a 5:0 judges' decision. She will face Canadian Amber Wal today at approximately 13:30 for a spot in the finals.
In the men's 65 kg category, Viktorio Iliev also secured a semifinal spot by defeating Turkish opponent Yagit Us with a 5:0 judges' decision. He will compete against Serbian representative Dmitri Gorbenko at around 19:00. A victory would ensure his place in the finals.
Stelyan Strakhilov (75 kg) and Semion Boldirev (90 kg) both secured fifth place. Strakhilov lost to Ukrainian Vladislav Chynuk, while Boldirev suffered a dramatic defeat with a 2:3 judges' decision against Bogdan Tolmachov (Ukraine).
