Bulgarian Badminton Players End International Series Tournament in Graz

Bulgarian badminton players concluded their participation in the International Series tournament in Graz (Austria). Dimitar Yanakiev was defeated in the first round by Austrian host Wolfgang Gniedt with scores of 15-21, 19-21 in a 41-minute match. The doubles team of Iliyan Stoynov and Krassimir Todorov lost to Mikelangelo Njoto and Jerry Zhujiu Yu (Hong Kong) with scores of 21-23, 12-21.

Bulgaria's Performance in Youth Badminton Tournament

Meanwhile, Bulgaria secured five quarterfinal spots in the international badminton tournament for juniors and young women up to 19 years old in Pazardzhik. Elena Popivanova will compete in the semifinals and guarantees a prize in singles, doubles with Viktoriya Popova, and mixed doubles with Georgi Rupcov. Rupcov/Stiliyan Nanovski and Anton Bilchev/Pavel Shaytanov are also quarterfinalists in doubles. The matches begin at 10:00 in the Vasili Levski sports hall.
