The Bulgarian women's national volleyball team secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Sweden in a high-intensity friendly match at the Hristo Botev Arena in Stara Zagora. The win marks a positive return for head coach Marcelo Abondanza, who made his debut back in charge of the national side. The final score read 25:19, 27:29, 25:19, 25:17, showcasing a balanced performance across all technical elements.

This match was the third and final encounter between the two sides during their training camp. While the previous two games were informal, this final contest carried official weight, serving as a critical benchmark before the upcoming Volleyball Nations League (VNL). The Bulgarian squad, dressed in their traditional yellow and blue kits, displayed remarkable cohesion and tactical discipline under Abondanza’s guidance.

Preparation for the Volleyball Nations League

The team will now move to the final stage of their camp in Rosario, Argentina, where they will face the Argentine national team in two more friendlies. The matches are scheduled for May 20 and May 31. Following these preparations, the Bulgarian squad will travel to Brazil for the first week of the Volleyball Nations League, aiming to build on the confidence gained from this victory.
