Bulgaria secured the Eurovision 2026 victory with Dara’s song "Bangaranga." After her triumph, Dara took to her Instagram to express her gratitude to everyone who supported her.

"Hi everyone, I am so grateful for everything that happened tonight. Life looks surreal right now," Dara began her message, encouraging everyone to believe in themselves: "Magical things will happen. Life is truly magical."

A Sudden Rise in Betting Odds

Dara’s performance with "Bangaranga" was so captivating that it led to a significant jump in her betting odds leading up to the final. Prior to the second semi-final, she was not even in the top ten according to bookmakers, who ultimately predicted a third-place finish for her. However, after the public and juries cast their votes, the talented Dara clinched the victory.

The origin of the word "Bangaranga" comes from Jamaican slang, meaning "ruckus" or "commotion." Dara explained that the song has a "raw and phonetic power," and personally associates it with kukeri, a traditional Bulgarian custom where costumed men perform rituals to ward off evil spirits.
