Boxing Legend Gennady Golovkin to Attend European Championships in Sofia

Former world champion and current World Boxing president Gennady Golovkin will be a special guest at the European Boxing Championships in Sofia this September. The news was confirmed by Krasimir Ininski, president of the Bulgarian Boxing Federation. The two met during the finals of the "Belgrade Winner" tournament, where they discussed the development of boxing and Bulgaria's place on the global stage.

Golovkin, a former Olympic silver medalist and professional world champion, expressed his firm belief that Bulgaria will be an excellent host for the European Championships for both men and women. He has confirmed his intention to visit the capital to be part of the historic event in four months.

"We have known Mr. Golovkin for many years. He is a great friend of Bulgarian boxing, always speaking with great respect for our school and organizational skills. I am pleased that he accepted my invitation and will honor us with his presence at the first European Championships in the history of World Boxing," Ininski shared from Belgrade.
