Black-and-whites face a difficult challenge ahead: "We are written off..."
Not only do they depend on themselves, but they also face numerous, truly numerous, obstacles.
Due to all of this, Srđan Blagojević admitted that he feels as though this season has lasted five years, but that the entire team is aware that they have collectively written off Partizan.
The first of these two matches is against Čukarički, scheduled for Sunday at Banovo Brdo. Black-and-whites have had a poor record against their white-and-black rivals this season: First, a 4-1 loss away, followed by a 0-0 draw at home. Add to that a 1-0 loss from last season's spring, meaning three consecutive matches without a win.
"As I said a few weeks ago, an uncertain finale awaits us. Unfortunately, not everything is in our hands, and we don't control everything, given the situation after the previous round when we drew with OFK Beograd and Vojvodina beat Čukarički. We are one point behind Vojvodina, but we certainly don't give up. We have big ambitions in this fight. Unfortunately, once again, not everything depends on us; we have to wait for other results. The condition for changing the situation is our good performance and good results in the last two rounds."
In spite of the situation, everyone in the team is ready to fight.
"The current situation Partizan is in is that we see and feel we are all collectively written off. We don't have many chances in this fight, but we are ready to fight until the end and to try to take advantage of every possible opportunity. Tomorrow we face a very difficult match. Given the previous two matches we played, we lost 4-1 there. At the end of the regular season, we drew 0-0, even though we played most of the game with an extra player. We managed to keep a clean sheet, but the 0-0 draw slowed us down in the overall fight. A complex situation awaits us, an uncertain finale by itself. A very difficult match awaits us, different turf, artificial grass, a different environment. We did everything we needed during this week, everything we had planned, we analyzed Čukarički's team, and we are quite motivated to give it our all."
The media noted that the hope of all rivals playing maximally engaged until the end has been lost, and the coach was asked if it bothers him that Vojvodina-OFK Beograd play at 8 PM.
"In principle, it's unusual. I don't know what the proposals are for the last two rounds, but I'm for always following the proposals. My experience from other countries and nations is that we should stick to the rules."
This is a heartbreaking situation for Partizan fans! Blagojević and the team are fighting a losing battle. Can they pull off a miraculous comeback? Or are they destined to finish second? Let's hope they can defy the odds and make a last-minute surge. What do you think, can Partizan turn it around?
