Owner Gigi Becali, a figure who commands attention wherever he walks, has finally broken his silence regarding one of the club’s most painful recent acquisitions. We are talking about Dennis Politic, the 26-year-old winger brought in with high hopes and an even higher price tag. The verdict? A disaster.

Becali, known for his bold moves and louder declarations, admitted that the transfer was a costly error. He spent nearly two million euros to secure Politic from rivals Dinamo Bucharest in the summer of 2025. In exchange, FCSB sent Alex Musi to Dinamo. On paper, it looked like a balanced trade. In reality, it has been a one-sided humiliation for the red-and-blue faithful.

Feigning Injury or Genuine Failure?

The narrative around Politic has shifted rapidly from promise to pity. The winger has struggled to replicate his form, citing constant medical issues. Becali, however, is not buying the sympathy act. “He pretends to be injured. I don’t know what he’s doing,” the owner stated bluntly. He acknowledged the financial blow, admitting, “I was tricked. I was tricked.”

Despite the frustration, FCSB is not ready to cut ties. Politic signed a four-year contract, and the club sees no immediate benefit in releasing him. Instead, he has been loaned to CSU Craiova (Hermannstadt) in an attempt to restore his confidence and value. Administrative president Mihai Stoica insists the player remains part of the project. “He is our player. He must return to us,” Stoica said. “We will see if he plays for us again.”

The Trade That Backfired

While FCSB grapples with regret, Dinamo Bucharest has celebrated a shrewd maneuver. Alex Musi, the young talent sent to the capital, has thrived under coach Zeljko Kopic. He has become a key goal-scorer for his new side, proving that the initial swap heavily favored Dinamo. Politic, who won the Romanian Super Cup with FCSB last summer, now sees his market value drop to €900,000. For Becali, the lesson is harsh: sometimes, the loudest buyer is the one left holding the bag.
