The Beach Pro Tour's Futures category will once again bring top beach volleyball talent to Bulgaria's Saints Vlas. For the third consecutive year, this prestigious tournament will gather 84 of the best mixed doubles teams from 28 countries spanning three continents. The event will be held at the Marina Dinewi complex from June 3 to June 7.
The tournament, organized by the Marina Dinewi group, aims to increase the popularity of beach volleyball. This year, the prize fund has been increased to €15,000, with €7,500 allocated for each gender category. Qualifying rounds will take place on June 3, with the main matches starting on June 4, and the finals scheduled for June 7.
Bulgaria will be represented by five women's and eight men's teams, as announced by the president of the volleyball federation, Lubomir Ganev, and Marina Dinewi group representative, Iva Partaleva. The sand quality, excellent views, and high-standard accommodations have been praised, with the sand even tested in an independent laboratory in Canada.
Last year, the Bulgarian duo of Dimitar Kalchev and Dimitar Mekhandzhiski finished third. With their participation in the Nations League, they now rank 94th globally. The tournament organizers expect this to improve after the competition in Saints Vlas.
The semi-finals and finals will be broadcast on BNT 3, the tournament's media partner.
This tournament is a must-watch for any volleyball fan, and the increased prize money is a game-changer. Can Bulgaria's home advantage finally lead to a victory this year? Let's see if the home crowd can make all the difference!
