Bayern Munich and Harry Kane are in serious negotiations regarding the striker's future. Kane's contract with Bayern expires in 2027, but both parties are interested in extending the agreement. Kane had a release clause worth 65 million euros, which could have been activated in February, allowing him to move to any club willing to pay the fee. However, feeling comfortable in Munich and the Bundesliga, Kane did not exercise the clause and instead agreed to begin discussions for an extension following the 2026 World Cup.
While Kane is over 30, he is demanding a two-year contract and a salary of 25 million euros per season. According to the magazine Kicker sportmagazin, this does not align with Bayern's plans. No player over 30 has received a contract longer than one year from the club, including legends like Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry, Thomas Müller, and Manuel Neuer.
Bayern is also concerned about the financial burden of Kane's proposed salary. The club is making efforts to reduce payroll expenses, especially after securing the futures of Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies. Musiala now earns 24 million euros, while Davies earns 15 million, with a bonus of 21 million for his contract extension.
The club's financial situation is further strained by the upcoming transfer window, with the transfer of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United being a major concern. Bayern has agreed on terms with Gordon, but Newcastle is reportedly seeking a transfer fee of at least 86 million euros.
