The Ministry of Defense announced that the traditional "Balkan Friendship Parachute 2026" event was officially opened at the "Lisičji jarak" sports airfield. This year, the event has once again gathered parachutists from multiple Balkan countries.

The first day of the event featured a competition among parachutists in target jumps from 1,000 meters. The following days will include various competitive, training, and demonstration jumps, as well as airborne parachute jumps from the AN-26 aircraft of the Serbian Armed Forces at the military airfield "Pukovnik-pilot Milenko Pavlović," with support from the 204th Air Force Brigade of the Air Force and Air Defense.

Colonel (retired) Nenad Kuzmanović, founder of the Paratroopers Club of Veterans of the 63rd Paratrooper Brigade "Arhistratig," stated that this year's event has attracted active members and veterans of the Serbian Armed Forces, local sports parachutists, and guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Austria, and Germany.

“At this traditional event, we have 126 registered participants, some of whom are veterans of the 63rd Paratrooper Brigade who live for this event and can barely wait to participate. This event is our tradition, a connection, and cooperation with countries across the region, Europe, and the world. I hope that it will continue to be held thanks to our Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Air Sports Federation of Serbia, commands of the Air Force and Air Defense and the 63rd Paratrooper Brigade, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, and media,” said Kuzmanović.
