Viorica Mărcuș exemplifies a pure passion for football, a love that has never left her blood since she first fell for the game. Her daughter, Lucica Dima, shared with Sport.ro the story of how her mother's fascination with football began and how it led her to break both her ribs while attending a match in Bacău.
From Away Games with A.S. Răcăciuni to Steaua's European Cup Triumph
Viorica's passion was sparked by her love for her husband, who was a player for A.S. Răcăciuni. This led her to the stands of the Municipal Stadium in Bacău, and later to the living room, where she watched the most important sporting events on television.
Her daughter recounted Viorica's experience watching Steaua's 1986 European Cup final victory in Sevilla and her keen interest in other sports, noting significant moments in her notebook.
The "Ultra grandmother" was not content with just watching and cheering for her team. In her youth, she even played in amateur matches, living football in its purest form.
