Apoel Falls to Real Madrid for the Second Time
Apoel Tel Aviv failed to hold off Real Madrid for the second time as the Spanish giants secured a 3-1 victory in their UEFA Champions League Group A clash. The match, played at Ramat Gan Stadium, saw Real Madrid dominate with three first-half goals, while Apoel managed to pull one back in the second half.
The first goal came in the 18th minute when Toni Kroos scored after a corner, finding the bottom left corner with his left foot. Karim Benzema then converted a penalty in the 31st minute to double Real Madrid's lead. Luka Modrić completed the scoring in the 37th minute, giving Real a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Apoel managed to get one back when Ibrahima Touré scored in the 66th minute. However, it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
With this win, Real Madrid remains at the top of Group A with six points after two matches. Apoel Tel Aviv sits in third place with three points.
