Romanian right-back Andrei Ratiu continues to impress in Spain. The Rayo Vallecano player has been included in the Team of the Week for La Liga's 37th round, following his outstanding performance in the 2-0 victory over Villarreal. Ratiu was one of the standout players for Rayo Vallecano in this match.

According to Spanish media, Ratiu delivered a solid performance both offensively and defensively. He was involved in 61 ball actions, completed 30 passes, made three crosses into the penalty area, created two goal-scoring opportunities, and provided a decisive pass for one of his team's goals.

Ratiu also excelled in the defensive phase. He made three clearances, blocked a shot, recovered eight balls, and won seven out of nine duels he was involved in.

Ratiu’s performance earned him a place in the Team of the Week, alongside notable names in La Liga such as Jan Oblak, Raphinha, and Javi Guerra. Ratiu wasn't the only Rayo Vallecano player to make the Team of the Week; his teammate Florian Lejeune was also selected after their victory over Villarreal.

Ratiu's strong form comes at a time when his name is once again linked with Barcelona. Spanish media reports that the Catalan club has Ratiu on their transfer radar for the upcoming window, with a potential transfer fee of 25 million euros.

Barcelona is looking for solutions for the right-back position, and Ratiu is seen as one of the options. However, the club's interest depends on the current situation of their players, particularly the future of Jules Kounde. Ratiu's profile is also of interest to Barcelona's rivals, with reports suggesting that Real Madrid is also seeking a right-back with Ratiu's capabilities.

“Mourinho has discussed with the club, through his agent, the need for defensive transfers. Real Madrid is looking for a right-back on the market who can serve as a backup, but they will also consider the budget,” reported Mario Cortegana, a journalist at Real Madrid.
