Alexander Georgiev: Lokomotiv Sofia Failed to Respond to Spartak's Aggression
Head coach of Lokomotiv Sofia, Alexander Georgiev, spoke out after his team’s 0-3 loss to Spartak Varna. The Sofia-based "railwaymen" suffered the defeat as guests on May 22, 2026.
Spartak Varna Triumphs
"It's not a vacation, we had significant issues with injuries and suspensions. The young players had to travel in the morning for their exams, so we couldn't present our team in the best light. The previous matches have taken a toll on the boys; they have worked hard, but today, they didn't play the match as they should have," Georgiev stated.
Lack of Response to Aggression
"When it comes to matters of life and death, as they say, the Spartak team came in very aggressively. We failed to respond to that aggression, and you saw the result. We did our best, but that was the extent of our capabilities," he added.
Georgiev also highlighted the potential of his young players, noting that he called up players from the youth academy. "I will be very happy, and this is the path we are building—giving opportunities to the youth," he concluded.
не мога да повярвам, че така загубихме. момчетата просто не изиграха. няма извинение. това е жестоко.
