Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati) secured a thrilling sprint victory at the Catalunya Circuit in Barcelona, narrowly edging out the fast-starting Pedro Acosta (KTM). Marquez led from the third lap, while Acosta briefly lost second place to Raul Fernandez, who overtook him midway through the race. In the eighth lap, Acosta reclaimed second place and pressured the leader, but could not overtake Marquez in the final moments. Marquez won by a mere tenth of a second, leaving Acosta visibly upset at his near miss.
Jorge Martin (Aprilia) crashed out on the third lap, while Peco Bagnaia (Ducati) made significant progress from his 13th starting position, finishing sixth. Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati) and Raul Fernandez fought for third place in the sprint race.
I can't believe how close that was! Alex Marquez just snatched it out from under Pedro Acosta's nose. This is why we love MotoGP, the tension and drama are always there. What a race!
