Following separate crashes that led to a double red flag during the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix, Alex Márquez and Joan Mir were discharged from the hospital.

Márquez collided with the rear of the bike of leader Pedro Acosta and crashed into the wall, before flipping in the air and losing control of his bike. He was rushed to the hospital, where tests confirmed a fractured pelvis close to the hip and a broken right clavicle.

"Alex Márquez underwent successful surgery last night for the fractured right clavicle, which was stabilized with a plate," his team, Gresini Ducati, announced. "He was released from the hospital later in the day."

Joan Mir Suffers Knee Injuries in Crash

After the race was restarted, Mir, riding for Honda, crashed with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Luca Marini (Honda). Mir was thrown over the bike, with his leg becoming entangled with Bagnaia's engine. The team confirmed that the French rider suffered knee ligament injuries and a small fracture of the tibia.

Joan Mir Leaves Catalan Hospital for France

"Joan Mir left the University General Hospital of Catalonia on Monday afternoon and is headed to France," the team statement said, as reported by Reuters.

Further Assessment in Lyon

"On Tuesday, he will visit the renowned knee specialist Dr. Bertrand Soneri-Cotte in Lyon for a further evaluation of his condition and to determine the next steps in his recovery," Honda added.
