Aleks Markes secured victory in the Catalonian Grand Prix MotoGP sprint race held in Barcelona, achieving the win with a time of 20:02.250 minutes and earning 12 points.

Second place, with nine points, went to Pedro Acosta from the KTM team, finishing just 0.041 seconds behind Markes. Fabio di Giannantonio from the Pramac team came in third, 0.457 seconds behind, securing seven points.

Raul Fernandes from the Trek Husqvarna team took fourth place, earning six points. Joan Zarco from the Kastrol Honda LCR team placed fifth with five points, and Francesco Bagnaia from Ducati secured fourth place with four points. Franko Morbidelli from Pramac came in seventh with three points. Akihoro Ogura from the Trek Husqvarna team placed eighth with two points, and Marko Bezec from Aprilia took ninth with one point.

The current world champion, Marc Marquez from Ducati, did not participate in today's sprint race due to injury and will also miss the Catalonian Grand Prix race.

Marko Bezec is still leading the overall standings with 129 points, two more than his teammate, Jorge Martin. Aleks Markes, the winner of today’s sprint race, is now in contention for the championship.
