Adrian Mihalcea Emotional After Unirea Slobozia's Relegation

Adrian Mihalcea experienced intense emotions after UTA Arad’s 1-0 victory over Unirea Slobozia. This result relegated the Ialomițean team to Liga 2, a bitter outcome for Mihalcea, who had been instrumental in promoting Slobozia to the Superliga.

At the end of the match, Mihalcea appeared visibly affected, speaking with tears in his eyes about the situation facing the club he once led. "I am sorry for Slobozia. I would have liked them to survive. The feelings remain, and I am sorry. I did not want to be the person who contributed significantly to their relegation."

Adrian Mihalcea’s Future at UTA Uncertain

Mihalcea also discussed his uncertain future at UTA Arad, despite having a contract with the club. He explained that the issues were not about salary arrears but about certain principles that troubled him in his relationship with the club’s officials.

"I sometimes act exactly as I am and am paid for it. We are talking about principles and how correct and honest we are. It is not about salary delays, but there are things that have bothered me, and this is how I managed the situation. Nobody knew. It was a decision I made, but I am so correct and honest that I speak up when things do not suit me."

Mihalcea added, "There were things that should have happened. I have a contract with UTA. The issues have been discussed, but it remains like this. I will go on vacation. I have not had a long vacation in four years, not even a week. I want to relax and continue my work."

Following the final playoff stage, UTA Arad finished surprisingly in first place, while Farul Constanța and FC Hermannstadt will face relegation playoffs. On the other hand, Unirea Slobozia and Metaloglobus București have been directly relegated to Liga 2.
