In an interview on a recent show, actress Songül Öden shared candid revelations about the early days of her career, particularly her time on the 2005 series "Gümüş" where she starred alongside Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ.
Öden, a guest on Armağan Çağlayan’s show, recalled how she quickly rose to fame after graduating and landing a role in "Gümüş." She also touched upon the personal hardships her family faced during that period.
"We Lost This Girl to the Mudhole"
Öden recounted her mother's initial reaction to her role in the series, especially the scenes that drew controversy. She explained, “My mother said, ‘We lost this girl to the mudhole,’ and she was very worried for me. I can laugh about it now, but those were very sad years.”
"After the Kiss Scenes, My Mother Was Hospitalized"
Öden further detailed the challenges her mother faced, admitting that she had initially misled her about the nature of her work. “I told her I would be a newsreader at TRT, making it seem like a more acceptable job. But after the kiss scenes in 'Gümüş,' my mother was hospitalized several times due to high blood pressure.”
Despite the struggles, Öden noted that her mother eventually came to accept her career and is proud of her current achievements.
Can you imagine the pressure Songül Öden faced with her family's initial disapproval? It's incredible how she persevered and became such a success. But I wonder, how do you think she managed to convince her mother to support her career in the end?
