KTM star Pedro Acosta strongly criticized the race direction’s decision to restart the Catalan Grand Prix for a third time after serious crashes involving Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco. Marquez and Zarco were both hospitalized due to their respective incidents.

Acosta was leading the race when his bike suddenly lost power between Turns 9 and 10. Marquez, who was right behind Acosta, had no time to react and collided with the back of Acosta's bike, sending him over the grass and into the ground. Marquez was conscious but taken to the hospital for further checks.

In the second incident, Zarco tangled with Francesco Bagnaia’s Ducati in Turn 1, resulting in Zarco being hospitalized for scans on his left leg.

Acosta expressed his frustration with the decision to restart the race after these two serious incidents. "There's not much to say about today's race. The most important thing is that we know Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco are okay, as well as everyone else who crashed," he told Spanish broadcaster DAZN.

He added, "It’s really awful that we act as if nothing happened and go out on track as normal. Even as MotoGP riders, who already have some experience with these things, I don’t really agree that we should go out and race again after two red flags."

Acosta also explained the technical issue he faced: "It seems it was an electronic fault; it was as if the bike suddenly cut out, and everything stopped working. The throttle stopped responding, and it caught me just as I was tucking into the fairing."

Despite losing the lead, Acosta accepted an apology from Ai Ogura, who hit him in the final corner. "That's just part of racing. We've all been there - going a lap too far. He came over, apologized, and waited a long time for me to come out of the pits. I take my hat off to him for showing a bit of humility."
