Košarkaški klub Dubai is preparing for an ambitious next season, and according to Lithuanian journalist Dontas Urbonas, current Barcelona coach Xavi Pascual is on the verge of signing with the club from the United Arab Emirates.
As reported by "Basket News", Pascual is in the final stages of negotiations with Dubai and is set to leave Barcelona at the end of the season. Dubai aims to qualify for the EuroLeague finals, which will be held in Abu Dhabi in 2027.
Pascual has an out clause in his contract with Barcelona, which significantly impacts his current situation.
Pascual took over Barcelona mid-season after Joan Penarroya was fired due to poor results. Pascual stabilized the team but failed to secure a playoff spot after losing to Monaco following a playoff qualifier victory against Partizan.
Dubai already has several star players on its roster, with further reinforcements expected, including Alfa Diop, Eli Okobo, Jeron Brown, and Mamadou Diakite.
