UK Study Reveals Dramatic Reduction in Depression and Anxiety Scores Through Ketogenic Diet
A recent trial in the United Kingdom has shown promising results in treating patients with treatment-resistant mental illness through a ketogenic diet. Over a period of twelve weeks, nineteen adults participated in the study, which resulted in a significant 62% reduction in depression scores and a 46% decrease in anxiety levels. Notably, all participants completed the trial, with no dropouts reported.
Although the study's sample size is relatively small, the outcomes suggest a potential shift in how psychiatry approaches mental health issues. The findings align with a growing body of research indicating that metabolic factors may play a crucial role in mental health conditions.
