Every Fifth Shop in Bulgaria Operates Without a Day Off

Over 22% of retail businesses in Bulgaria are operating without a day off, according to a national survey conducted by the ESTAT agency for the Association for Modern Trade. This means that almost every fifth shop is open seven days a week, while 49% operate for six days a week. Only 29% of retail businesses maintain a five-day workweek.

The survey also revealed that it takes over six weeks to find a salesperson, indicating the challenges faced by the retail sector in Bulgaria.

The findings highlight the increasing trend of continuous operations in the retail sector, reflecting the evolving demands and expectations of consumers in the country.
