In Vienna, preparations for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, under the theme "United by Music," are in full swing. The city is already buzzing with Eurovision energy, from the bridges on the Danube Canal that light up in the contest's colors at night to a special bicycle path on Urban-Loritz-Platz and bike stands designed for the event. Even the tram of the Vienna public transport system and the colorful Copacabana bridge on the Danube Island are part of the vibrant atmosphere, as highlighted in a statement from the Vienna City Hall press office.

Following the official colors of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, the bridges on the Danube Canal light up in shades of purple, blue, and red at night. On Roßauer Bridge, a specially designed heart has been installed for couples to lock love padlocks. The Urban-Loritz-Platz square is set to host musical performances by the popular "Metro Stars."

The "Metro Stars" have been delighting Vienna passengers with live music at nine select locations for nearly nine years, following the example of London. During the Eurovision Song Contest, all nine locations will be decorated to celebrate the "70 years of Eurovision Song Contest."

The Urban-Loritz-Platz, near the U6 Burggasse-Stadthalle station, and Karlsplatz will feature trams that double as stages for international musicians during the Eurovision week. The square is not only musically charged but also visually stunning, with two bicycle paths about 40 meters long painted in the official Eurovision colors. Cycling is promoted as the primary mode of transport to the Stadthalle arena, providing a new perspective on the city.

Under the slogan "register once, ride whenever you want," 3,100 bicycles are available for rent across the city, along with 300 electric bicycles and bikes with child seats. Rental is simple through an app, starting at just 35 cents for 30 minutes. Sixty locations feature specially branded bike racks with slogans like "12 points for cycling" and "Standing ovation for your bike."
